The transformation of common objects into abstract photographic images is the focus of my series, Remnants. I have discovered this alteration through the navigation lights of airplanes streaking across the night sky, the marks left on chalkboards through the process of erasure, and the impressions left by liquid adhesive painted on bullets. When photographed, the resulting shapes and patterns take on an elegance and subtlety, imbuing the images with metaphorical associations.
